Short version: GLANCE Apps does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Your information stays on your device.
Who we are
GLANCE Apps is an independent software studio publishing applications including dayGLANCE, lifeGLANCE, and lastGLANCE. GLANCE Apps is a Colorado registered trade name of Jason Krellner and is the party responsible for the data practices described in this policy.
This privacy policy covers our publisher-level practices and the glance-apps.com website. Each app may have additional privacy details specific to its features; see the privacy policy linked from each app's product page.
Data stored on your device
All content you create within our Apps is stored locally on your device using your platform's standard on-device storage. This data remains under your control at all times.
If you use your platform's automatic backup service (iCloud Backup, Google Backup, or similar), your device data may be backed up as part of your standard device backup. This is governed by your platform provider's privacy policy.
Optional cloud sync
Some Apps offer optional cloud sync to a destination you control, such as WebDAV, Nextcloud, a self-hosted GLANCEvault instance, or iCloud Drive. GLANCE Apps does not operate any of these sync servers.
When you sync to a GLANCEvault instance you host, your data is always encrypted client-side before leaving your device; the server stores encrypted content and never has access to your item contents or your passphrase. When you sync to WebDAV or Nextcloud, client-side encryption is optional and off by default; enable each app's sync-encryption option to encrypt your data before upload. When you sync to iCloud Drive, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's standard encryption, governed by Apple's privacy policy. Sync is off by default.
Data we do not collect
Our Apps are designed to operate entirely on your device. We do not:
- Require you to create an account
- Collect personally identifiable information
- Store your notes, entries, or any app content on any servers we control (the web versions of some Apps route sync traffic through a stateless relay we host, in transit only and never stored; see each app's privacy policy)
- Track your location
- Use advertising identifiers
- Sell or share your data with third parties
Analytics
We do not use third-party analytics services. Your platform's distribution service (such as Apple's App Store Connect or Google Play Console) may share aggregated, anonymized crash and usage data with us if you have opted into analytics on your device. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.
This website
The glance-apps.com website is a static site served via Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP address, request times, page URLs) for operational purposes. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts on this site.
Children's privacy
Our Apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the Apps or this website before changes take effect.
